The sequel is a big trend not only in Hollywood and the blockbuster business, but also in the world of slots. And when it comes to Microgaming, they know how to take a good slot and turn it into a franchise. Break da Bank Again is not a clever name, but it is really, really close to being an excellent sequel to the 2008 hit Break da Bank slot. And, frankly, you could say that there is no truer sequel for Paydays.

How to play

Players must spin all 9 pay lines in each round. There are 5 reels in Break da Bank Again, and this game's 9 play lines give it plenty of opportunities to create winning combinations! Coins range in size from $0.01 to $0.25 and players can set their total bet between $0.09 and $22.50.

Beyond the standard 10, J, Q, K and A symbols, the game has five other symbols:

  • Coins (pays between 10 and 200 coins) Paying a check (amounts can vary between 12 and 500 coins) Cash (pays between 15 and 750 coins) Gold bars (pays between 20 and 1,000 coins) Gem (pays between 25 and 1,500 coins)

There are also scatter and wild symbols in the game, represented by a vault door and the Break da Bank logo respectively.

The Vault Door gives players the chance to win free spins. If three or more scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels, players get 15 free spins. If four land, it's 20 free spins and if five land, it's 25. Once you're in this round, you can land enough Vault Doors to get back to square one, which means you can keep vaulting through free spin rounds.

The Break da Bank symbol is wild and helps create winning combinations. Better yet, it can give you 5 times or even 25 times the amount you would normally win for a regular combination it helped create.

Graphics and Sounds

The game is set against a purple background with black reels and bright symbols. The letters are different colors and the symbols are digital representations that lack any animation quality but are more than acceptable visually. The only character that activates any sort of graphic is the vault door that occasionally swings open to reveal free spins.

Again, Break da Bank has a classic Vegas feel to it, especially in the way it sounds. The background music has a sort of swinging jazz beat with a keyboard and some brass. On winning spins, you'll get a series of classic Vegas bell sounds to congratulate you. There aren't too many other special sounds, the biggest being the one that accompanies the effect when the vault door opens.

Jackpot

On a single spin of Break da Bank Again, players can win almost $25,000. Technically, there isn't a true jackpot here - you'll want to check out one of our recommended progressive jackpots for that. But in terms of payout, the Break da Bank Again near miss is a doozy. With a maximum bet of $22.50, you can pull in as many as 98,750 coins in a single spin, resulting in a staggering payout of $24,687.50. There is a way to do this, and it's to try and hit some wild and scatter symbols while riding all the free spins to massive winnings.

Break da bank again! The volatility of this online slot game makes it exciting and offers potentially quicker wins. Yes, the house still has an edge. But the edge is slim, and with the flop on, this, er, "piece" of advice should set you up for a win! Or a loss. Or a win-loss sandwich.

Special features

Break da Bank Again tries to attract you primarily with its standard gameplay and payouts, which makes the free spin bonus round a somewhat grand affair. There are some key playability aspects that separate the standard payouts from the bonus round - for starters, the free spins are... free (not shocking!) and who doesn't like that? Just as importantly, the value of the scatter and wild symbols changes during the bonus round. You can land a single Vault Door anywhere on the reels and it will trigger more free spins. As for the wild symbol, it suddenly becomes your 25x multiplier, whereas in standard play it was only a 5x multiplier.
