SEGA Releases New SEGA Slots App

SEGA, one of the world’s leading developers of video games, has announced the launch of its newest mobile gaming experience, SEGA Slots.

The games will see many of the company’s most famous and beloved characters get the mobile online slots treatment for the first time. Online casino players will be able to reconnect with their favorite characters on any of their favorite devices including Android and iOS.

“SEGA Slots celebrates the company’s history, while embracing a new genre of mobile experience,” the company said in a statement posted to its corporate website.

Games To Be In Social Casino Game Format

For now, SEGA will only be creating games for the social casino gaming market. Social versions of online casino games play the same as regular games, except do not require any real money wagers to be made.

This type of social online gaming has exploded in recent years. While SEGA has never been involved in the for-money online gaming market, the social versions are now so popular that the company could no longer sit on the sidelines when it owns the rights to so many beloved gaming properties.

Harken Back To Days Of Old

And more than anyone, Canadian online casino players know just how legendary the gameplay and adventures of SEGA characters are.

Characters such as Sonic The Hedgehog are known in every province for bringing fun and joy to millions of Canadian children. That reality isn’t lost on SEGA, which is no doubt looking to cash in big time on both their current and nostalgic popularity in order to transcend every demographic of online casino player in a way very few other games can.

“[SEGA Slots] features fan-favorite SEGA classics including Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Samba De Amigo, reimagined in Vegas-style casino games,” the company said.

SEGA plans on updating the app regularly to remain current with new iterations and adventures. However, to date it has not said that it plans to release a real money version anytime in the near future.
